MacCana is the Hudson Valley's "old meets new" Celtic rock band. Traditional Irish and Scottish tunes are revived and given a contemporary life with the energetic, electrifying, and emotional renditions of well known favorites, as well as those forgotten to Ireland's rich and cultural history.
The band also performs today's Irish and Scots bands. Songs by U2, The Proclaimers, and The Waterboys are given a premier place in their repertoire. With more than thirty years of collective music experience between the four McCann brothers (Terry, Brendan, Colin, and Ryan), and Dave Cafasso, MacCana comes to life with lead, rhythm, and bass guitars, mandolin, drums, tin whistle, Celtic fiddle, and amazing lead vocals and vocal harmonies.
MacCana has opened for some renowned Irish recording artsits including Black 47, The Prodigals, The Dublin City Ramblers, and The Wolftones, as well as Canada's Enter the Haggis. They have also performed a private party for the former NY Governor, Elliot Spitzer, as well as being returning featured performers at the annual Celebration of Celts in Columbia County, and the Kingston's annual Hooley on the Hudson at Ulster County's Historic Waterfront.
